The Odikro of Okyerekrom in the Akrofuom district, Nana Adyei Amoako Gyampa II has expressed worried about an abandoned pit constructed by Anglogold Ashanti Obuasi mine.
According to the Chief, AGA has turned on death ears after the pit collapsed in 2012 posing threat on farmers who have their farm lands around the pit.
The pit, which has allegedly claimed 10 lives as of 2012 is a worry to the chief and the entire residents.
Addressing the press at Okyerekrom, the chief Nana Amoako gave a two-week ultimatum for AngloGold Ashanti to reclaim the pit or face their wrath.
Residents who’s relatives have so far lost their lives through the pit shared their ordeal with the media.
