Rev. Dr. Nana Takyi Asiedu Founder and Leader of Ramseyer Prayer and Herbal Centre in Suhum who doubles as a political activist, has stated emphatically that , Nana Akuffo Addo’s government has woefully failed in the war against the illegal mining activities in the country and will continue to be a failure in any attempt to tackle Galamsey because the personalities who are into the activities of galamsey in the country are mostly the people holding political powers and also close to the president hence it will be extremely difficult for the president to put a stop to the canker which keeps affecting our water bodies and the natural resources.

Speaking to DKMNEWS.NET in an exclusive interview, Rev. Dr. Nana Takyi Asiedu indicated that the issues of Galamsey have been a national concern with the president declaring war against it on several occasions. However, the president always stays muted without acting about the numerous allegations of illegal mining levelled against some prominent political leaders in the country and so that makes the president a failure in the fight against galamsey.

He stressed that the two highly ranked political parties, NPP and NDC and the other political parties cannot fight galamsey due to the lack of political will to do the needful with some other vibrant personalities from both political parties being actively involved in the activities of galamsey denoting that we have failed as Ghanaians to fight the illegal mining.

Mr. Samuel Boateng, a political activist also insisted that there is no way the country can fight Galamsey stressing that his expectations from the president on the galamsey war could not be materialized hence the president is a failure in the fight against illegal mining.

He asserted that the president by now should have used someone in the illegal mining activities as a scapegoat by ensuring the person is jailed to deter others but that is not happening which indicates that no politician and a political party can fight against Galamsey in the country.
