Todd Snider Arrested and Released, Cancels Tour After ‘Severe Injuries’ in Violent Assault
Todd Snider – Todd Snider arrested – Before announcing the cancellation of his 2025 High, Lonesome and Then Some Tour, Todd Snider was arrested in Salt Lake City and released a few hours later.
According to Salt Lake County jail records, the “Just Like Old Times” singer, 59, was arrested on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 7:10 p.m. and released just before 3:00 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 3.
Snider was released on no recognizance, meaning he was not required to pay bail but signed a promise to appear in court.
A rep for Snider did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Hours after his release, the singer announced the tour’s cancellation in a statement posted on his Instagram.

“We are heartbroken to announce the cancellation of the High, Lonesome and Then Some 2025 Tour dates. Ahead of Todd Snider’s show in Salt Lake City, Todd sustained severe injuries as the victim of a violent assault outside of his hotel,” the statement read.
“Todd will be unable to perform for an underdetermined amount of time. We deeply apologize for the cancellation and any inconvenience it causes. We appreciate your understanding as Todd receives needed medical treatment. We hope to have more information on new dates soon,” the statement concluded.
The tour was in support of Snider’s latest studio album High, Lonesome and Then Some, which he released on Oct. 17.
“Recently, I heard someone say ‘If you’re not angry, you’re not paying attention,’ so I tried it and so far so good. These are songs seeking soul, soul mate, maker, making out and mercy. The muse for this record was the sound of it. We made it on purpose,” Snider wrote in a September Instagram post.
Before canceling the tour, Snider played one show in Englewood, Colo. on Oct. 30. In the coming days, he was set to play across several major cities before wrapping for the year on Nov. 16.

The same day of his album release, Rolling Stone published an interview with Snider where he shared his thoughts on touring again.
“I told my team that I want this tour to be the funnest one. I at least want to do it one more time. After that, I may just have to do one show at a time, but that’s been coming for a while,” he told the outlet. “I’ve got this arthritic s— they call [spinal] stenosis, which makes it painful all over… I do a lot of things to try to help it, but I have to make peace with it, too. Which hasn’t been easy.”
