The MCE, Techiman, Hon. Benjamin Yaw Gyarko has cuts the sod for the construction of 1 No. Two- Storey 6-unit classroom block with auxiliary facilities for the Aduana Model Basic School located at Wiawso in Techiman the Bono East Regional capital.
Present at the ceremony were, Nana Boakye Ameyaw Pentenprem (Nifahene, Techiman Traditional Council), Alhaji Inusah Hamza, Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Muniru Tanko, Techiman South Constituency Chairman and Party Executives, Officers of the Municipal Education office and the Assembly, Parents and Pupils.
In his address, Hon. Benjamin Yaw Gyarko informed the gathering that the Assembly and the MP Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah who doubles as a Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural development are aware of the infrastructure needs of all the schools in the Municipality and are taking steps to address them gradually.
He mentioned that, within last one year, the Assembly has completed and commissioned Six (6) Unit Classroom blocks with auxiliary facilities each in the following communities: Nsuta, Nkwaeso, Nkwanta, Kenten and Ayinabrem.
He said the source of funding for the project is District Assembly Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT) and that the money is sitting in the accounts of the Assembly.
He therefore, urged them to allay fears that the project will be stalled in a midway.
The contractor for the project is Benewaa and Sons Company and their Foreman Mr. Justice Agyemang Duah told DKMNEWS.NET that, the contract duration for the project is six (6) months period which starts from 1st Feb to August 2023 which they will also do what they could to complete it in time.
Finally, Head Teachers of the Aduana Model Basic Cluster of Schools, thanks the MCE for his care and support to the school, he thereby urged him (MCE) he will not let his effort prove futile.
