Donald Trump Calls Michelle Obama ‘Racist’ in Social Media Post Weeks After Controversial Ape Video Reshare
Donald Trump – Michelle Obama – Trump social media post – Donald Trump reshared a post that called Michelle Obama a “racist” just two weeks after his Truth Social account platformed a video depicting the only Black first lady as an ape.
In a Truth Social post on Saturday, Feb. 21, the president shared a message from far-right activist Laura Loomer that described the former first lady as an “anti-White racist.”
In his own caption on the repost, Trump went after another Black woman from the same administration, President Barack Obama’s former national security adviser Susan Rice.
Suggesting Netflix should cut ties with Rice, who currently serves on the company’s executive board, Trump said, “Netflix should fire racist, Trump Deranged Susan Rice, IMMEDIATELY, or pay the consequences.”
The initial post from Loomer thrashed Netflix’s attempt to acquire Warner Bros. and urged Trump to block the merger. Loomer expressed fears that the Obamas’ production company, Higher Ground Productions — which produces a variety of content on Netflix — would influence both companies.
“Making this more horrifying is the fact that if the Netflix-Warner Bros. merger is approved, positive messaging of the Democrats’ upcoming witch hunts against Trump from Barack Hussein Obama…and his anti-White racist wife Michelle… would likely be blasted across all streaming services as the Obamas’ Higher Ground Productions continues to grow within Netflix,” Loomer, 32, wrote.

The social media posts made by Trump and Loomer came after Rice appeared on a podcast hosted by former U.S. attorney Preet Bharara and shared a warning to private corporations who have bowed to pressure from the Trump administration.
“If these corporations think that the Democrats, when they come back in power, are going to, you know, play by the old rules, and, you know, say, ‘Oh, never mind. We’ll forgive you for all the people you fired, all the policies and principles you’ve violated, all, you know, the laws you’ve skirted.’ I think they’ve got another thing coming,” Rice, 61, said on Feb. 19.
“You know, companies already are starting to hear they better preserve their documents. They better be ready for subpoenas. If they’ve done something wrong, they’ll be held accountable, and if they haven’t broken the law, good for them,” Rice continued.
The president’s support for Loomer’s allegation of “anti-White racism” came just two weeks after a video was posted to Trump’s Truth Social account that ended with the Obamas’ faces on the bodies of apes while “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” played in the background.
A handful of Republican politicians demanded that Trump apologize for posting the video, including South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, who said that he was “praying” that the video was “fake,” because it was “the most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House.”
The video was deleted from his page following bipartisan backlash and the White House later blamed an unnamed staffer for sharing the post on the president’s behalf.
Speaking with reporters on Air Force One on Feb. 6, Trump was asked by a journalist whether or not he would apologize that his account platformed the racist video.
In response to the journalist’s question, Trump replied, “No, I didn’t make a mistake.”
“Nobody knew that that was in the end [of the video],” he continued. “If they would have seen it and probably they would have had the sense to take it down.”
He later told reporters that no staffers had been disciplined or fired in connection with the video.
