BONO EAST MINISTER URGES TRADITIONAL RULERS TO RESPECT LAWS REGARDING INSTALLATION OF CHIEFS – DKMNEWS.NET

Management of chieftaincy-related conflicts continues to be a drain to the national kitty. The Bono East Regional Minister, Mr Kwasi Adu-Gyan is therefore urging traditional authorities to exercise restraint and respect the laws and institutions regarding the installation of chiefs.

Mr Kwasi Adu-Gyan, Bono East Minister is not happy with the recent development of the installation of Zongo chiefs in the region without due process which seems to be a threat to the peace and security of the land. He was addressing the Kintampo division of Zongo chiefs led by Sariki Fanyinama III who doubles as the President of Wangara chiefs and Vice President of the Council of Zongo chiefs in Ghana when they paid a courtesy call on the regional coordinating council, RCC.

He also appealed to Nana Fanyinam to use his good office to settle the feuding faction in Techiman Zongo.

According to the minister ghana has Acts and Laws that deal with chieftaincy issues and therefore urged all traditional authorities to access any of them to ensure peace and security of the land.

On his part, Sariki Fanyinama III praised the minister for his good work in the region and expressed the support of the chiefs to him and the coordinating council.

Sariki Fanyima also appealed to the minister to come in when Zongo people who have been born and bred in Ghana are denied Ghana cards.
