Four Feared Dead in Military Helicopter Crash at Adansi Akrofuom, Ghana
A fatal military helicopter crash has reportedly occurred at Adansi Sikaman in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region, claiming the lives of four individuals.
The victims, who are yet to be officially identified, are believed to be top government officials traveling to a programme in Obuasi.
The tragic incident occurred on August 6, 2025. Eyewitnesses described the scene as horrific, with the helicopter reportedly catching fire upon impact.
GhanaWeb’s Ashanti Regional correspondents, Nana Preprah and Kwame Agyenim Boateng, are en route to the scene to gather more details.
According to additional details on adomonline.com, the helicopter was engulfed in flames and burned beyond recognition after crashing into a tree.
The aircraft, which reportedly flies the Accra–Obuasi route every Wednesday, went down under unclear circumstances, it added.
The news report added that the Assembly Member for the area, Matthew Baah, confirmed the incident with them in an interview on Adom FM’s Kasiebo Is Tasty.
He explained that he was working on his farm when he received a distress call.
“After the crash, everything went silent. Residents who rushed to the scene found the helicopter in flames,” he recounted.
The report further stated that dismembered body parts were recovered from the crash site although the identities of the suspected top government officials have not yet been confirmed.
