Afua Asantewaa Aduonum attempts to break the record for longest singathon by an individual., Ghanaian broadcast journalist and Women Empowerment Advocate, has been given the green light by Guinness World Records to attempt to break the record for longest singathon by an individual.
The current record is held by Sunil Waghmare from India, who sang for 105 hours, from 3rd to 7th March, 2012.
Afua intends to break the record with her target being 117 hours minimum and 120 hours maximum.
Speaking in a video shared on her Instagram, Ms Aduonum explained that she was attempting to break this record to promote Ghana music to the world.
“This attempt is strictly for Ghanaian songs, we’re doing this to promote Ghanaian songs, from gosple, highlife, hiplife name it.”
