The Princess of Wales, who was once front and center with husband Prince William on royal engagements, “may never come back in the role that people saw her in before,” an insider told Us Weekly. The source added that she is currently “reevaluating what she’s going to be able to take on when she comes back” after undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatments for her cancer.

Furthermore, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams mentioned that when Middleton is ready to resume her royal duties, “it will be [based] on medical advice, and it will be very carefully balanced.”

Page Six contacted Kensington Palace for a response but did not receive an immediate reply. The information follows a source’s statement to the Daily Beast that Middleton might not be seen publicly as a working royal for the rest of 2024. Middleton, aged 42, has been less visible since January due to a scheduled abdominal surgery and subsequent cancer diagnosis.

The royal family kept quiet about her health amid various conspiracy theories about her well-being, cheating allegations, and divorce speculation. Middleton addressed the situation on March 22, clarifying that her absence was due to a recent cancer diagnosis. She chose not to disclose the specific type of cancer she is dealing with.

In a video message recorded without Prince William, she shared, “This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.”
