It seems like Young Thug’s attorney is making moves in the ongoing RICO trial.

The attorney has filed a second motion to dismiss Judge Ural Granville from the case. Jozsef Papp shared the official filing to X, showing a 233-page supplement to the previous motion. The attorney had also filed for a mistrial, claiming an “unlawful, improper ex parte meeting” between the judge, prosecutors, and witness Kenneth Copeland.
In the new documents, Steel mentioned that Judge Rachel Krause should also be recused from deciding whether Glanville can stay on the case due to their connection through re-election campaigns. He also called for District Attorney Adriane Love and prosecutor Simone Hylton to be removed from the case, referring back to the meeting with Copeland as a “disgraceful episode” in Fulton Courts. Steel emphasized that Glanville, Love, and Hylton “shall never be trusted by Mr. Williams or undersigned counsel.”
He added: “The criminal justice system in Fulton County, in the State of Georgia and in America has been attacked by the conduct of these three actors.”
In court last month, Steel got into a heated exchange with the judge when he learned about the meeting with Copeland. Glanville demanded Steel to disclose the source of his information about the meeting. Steel declined to reveal the source, leading to a dramatic moment where he was arrested for contempt, all captured on a courtroom livestream.
“You can purge that contempt just by telling who it is that told you that information. That’s all I need to know,” Glanville said to Steel, who refused to name names.
Steel expressed his desire to use his jail time to work with his client Young Thug on their defense against the RICO charges. However, Steel managed to avoid prison time as he was granted bond while awaiting the appeal of his contempt charge.
