Road accident has taken some innocent souls unaware due to some reckless behaviour and driving from some drivers.

The National Road Safety Authority in the Bono East Region has recorded 102 road accident cases in the first half of this year (January-June, 2022) a figure lower than the 153 accidents recorded within same period last year 2021.

Speaking to DKMNEWS.NET, Mr. Akyeampong-Parry Emmanuel the Bono East Regional Director of National Road Safety Authority revealed that the number of deaths recorded thus 59 and some 146 persons also getting various degrees of injury is also lower than last year’s records.

Mr. Akyeampong-Parry said it’s rather unfortunate that the number of vehicles involved in accidents within the first half of 2022 is quite higher than the previous year and 22 people dieing as a result of pedestrian knockdowns out of the total 59 is also a worry to the National Road Safety Authority.

Mr. Emmanuel Akyeampong-Parry further revealed that Motorcycles and Tricycles (Aboboyaa & Prahgia) contributed to majority of accidents which is unacceptable therefore cautioned riders to be extra vigilant on the road.
