AFIGYA KWABRE NORTH DISTRICT ASSEMBLY 8TH DISABILITY COMMON FUND DISBURSEMENT

The Afigya Kwabre North district of the Ashanti today held their 8th disability common fund disbursement at the first Baptist church auditorium at Boamang the district capital.

Some of the items shared to the persons with disabilities within the district were sowing machine, fufu pounding machine, chest refrigerator, pop corn machine, provisions, hair drying machine, wheel chairs etc.

Hon. Kwasi Karkari Achamfour the District Chief executive officer gave details about the source of the items been shared to the persons with disabilities within the district and also expressed his profound gratitude concerning their comportment today.

He added that, there is no reason and will be no reason to keep their share of the common fund.

Mr Hans Kwadwo Adu who is the district director of social welfare also shared with us the purpose of these donations and the challenges they have been facing as a department.

Madam Paulina Adanse who is the president for the Ghana Federation of Disabilities(GFD) in the district added that this is not the first time and will not be the last time for such activities. She also added the reason why they no longer give them the money but rather give them items that will support them for life and also called on persons with disabilities to join their association so that they can support them in terms of needs.

Some of the beneficiaries also expressed their warm gratitude to the Assembly especially the DCE, their association leaders, members and also promise to keep them in good shape.
They also advised their colleagues on the street begging for money to put a stop to it and join the association for the necessary help.
