After leaving Manchester City for Barcelona, Aguero announced his retirement from professional football. He was taken to the hospital after experiencing chest pains during Barcelona’s match against Deportivo de Alaves.
Doctors advised Aguero to step away from football due to his diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmia. In a recent Twitch live stream, he called his cardiologist to inquire about returning to the sport. The cardiologist said he could play for a short period of time. Aguero was asked if he would consider returning to his former team, Independiente, managed by Carlos Tevez.
He said: “If Carlitos [Tevez, Independiente manager] calls me, what do you expect me to do?”
According to DSports Radio, via Transfer Sector, it is reported that Sergio Aguero will be joining Carlos Tevez’s Independiente for football training. They will evaluate whether he can make a professional comeback.
Aguero’s cardiologist said: “You won’t have any problems playing for that long. Logically, we have to do the studies, which already correspond, and make you run as if it were a game… When you approach the two centre-backs, if you have to do a trick, something like that, you have to be well prepared.
“So I would tell you to, ‘get ready, there is hope’ you could say. You have to get well, in a physical state for a few minutes [of action]. In short, it is possible.”
