The Traditional Council of Sefwi Ahwiaso in the Bibiani Ahwiaso Bekwai Municipality have poured libation, performed rituals to reverse a curse showered on Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II Paramount Chief of Sefwi Ahwiaso and President for National House of Chiefs by a woman identified as Fowaah a resident of Bibiani-Hwenampori.
Speaking to DKMNEWS.NET at Ogyeahoho’s palace, Abakomahene of the Ahwiaso Traditional area Nana Kwadwo Somiah II explained that, according to the curse the woman appealed to the gods to take Ogyeahoho’s life (kill him) for ambiguous reasons.
Nana Somiah added that the woman has no right to curse the chief besides Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II has not done any wrongful thing to deserve this so the council thought it wise to reverse the curse because it’s a taboo.
He noted that, Fowaah would be invited by the traditional council to answer some questions and if she fails to honour their invitation traditional and legal actions would be taken against her.
Nana Kwabena Asiedu, Dabehene of Ahwiaso Traditional area is of the view that the curse was not directed to only Ogyeahoho but the entire traditional council and reiterated that Fowaah would be invited to perform necessary rituals or summon her in court since cursing someone is a threat.
