Anissa Tinnin was enjoying the evening with her 4-year-old granddaughter when she came face to face with a criminal trying to get away from police. Her fast thinking got him out of her home but when he broke in a second time, she was ready with her gun and shot him. Tinnin: âGet back. Get back. I have a gun. Get back. Get back.â

Anissa Tinnin a 45-year-old Albuquerque grandma shot an intruder who bursted into her home.

A grandma in New Mexico became a hero when she defended herself and her granddaughter from a burglar who broke into their home while they were watching a Taylor Swift movie. She managed to dial 911 and pleaded with the operator for help while the intruder tried to escape.

‘This guy came into my house and tried to take my car. Please help me,’ she begged in a released recording of the call.

In that terrifying moment, the grandma instructed her granddaughter to stay in a bedroom, comforting her by saying, “It’s okay, baby. It’s okay.” With the sound of sirens in the distance, the intruder returned and kicked the door in.

Showing immense bravery, she warned him to stay back, repeatedly saying, “Get back. I have a gun. Get back. Get back.” It must have been a truly intense and frightening situation.

I will f******* shoot you,’ Tinnin shouted before opening fire.

‘Why did you shoot me?’ Rivera demanded.

‘Because you’re in my f****** house!’ the grandmother said.

Rivera faces charges of burglary, attempting to commit a felony and auto theft. These come on top of five previous felony convictions.
