Ngleshie Amanfrom Government basic school has  been a topic now as the student in this basic school was urged to pay water and power supply bills.

The school’s authorities  requested that each student must contribute the amount of 10Gh for water and power supply expenses.

Prohpet Nana Yaw Osei Tutu popularly known as Prophet 99 a parent of a student and the founder of Yehowah Beye Prayer Ministry stated that he made a payment for his ward. But was perturbed as to why student should fund for these.

“I’ve never seen anything like this since I was born”.How can a school expect their students to pay for their water and power bills? The situation is grave, the amount of money collected is enormous, I keep asking myself why this is happening. Are the children’s manufacturers supposed to pay water and energy bills? He queried Kwabena Agyapong on Rainbow radio 87.5fm’s frontline.

While other parents claimed the decision taken was made based on the agreement of the (PTA) Paren Teacher Association, this decision was taken in order to help school administrators to run the school and improve teaching and learning.

In a morning show broadcast  some of this parents sent text messages and audios claiming this decision was taken by the PTA and not the school.
