Bringing Up Bates’ Travis Clark Praised Wife Katie Bates for Loving Him Deeply Weeks Before Cheating Revelation

Travis Clark praised his wife, Katie Bates, in a social media post, weeks before he admitted to cheating on her.

In a birthday tribute to Bates in October, Clark, 24, shared a video montage of special moments the couple spent together.

He wrote in his Instagram caption, “Happy 25th to the easiest person in the world to celebrate 🌎🫶🏻.”

“You love so deeply, give so much of yourself to everything you do, and somehow make every season we’re in feel special,” Clark continued.

“From the first day I met you I knew there was something different about you… and I was right. Happy birthday, Kate! I love you 💛👩🏼‍❤️‍👨🏻,” he added.

Clark revealed he cheated on Bates through a message shared on his Instagram Stories on Saturday, Jan. 17.

The post was shared a day after Bates announced the couple suffered a pregnancy loss of their third baby.

“This is hard to write, but I owe the truth and I owe an apology. I was unfaithful to my wife. I had an affair and repeatedly broke her trust,” Clark wrote in his post.

“There is no excuse for what I did. This was my failure and my responsibility alone. I know that words don’t begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I’ve brought into her life, but I am truly sorry,” he continued.

Clark then apologized for “the pain, humiliation, and betrayal I caused my wife through my choices.”

“I understand that an apology doesn’t repair what I broke, and forgiveness is not something I deserve or can ask for,” the musician said. “I am taking responsibility by getting help and doing the work to change and become a more honest and accountable man, regardless of outcome.”

“I ask for privacy and grace for Katie as she processes this in her own time,” Clark concluded, signing off his message with his name.

Bates, who grew up on camera on Bringing Up Bates, a reality show about her family, announced that she and Clark suffered a pregnancy loss through an Instagram video on Jan. 16.

“I will spend the rest of my life missing you 🪽,” she captioned the post.

Bates and Clark met in 2019 and began dating the following year.

The couple later got engaged in April 2021, and they tied the knot that December.

Bates and Clark welcomed their first baby, daughter Hailey James, in February 2023. Their second child, son Harvey Gray, joined the family in September 2024.
