Galamsey: Wontumi faces arrest if he fails to report to Accra on October 6 – AG
Dr Ayine noted that progress on the investigation had been delayed due to what he described as the concealment of key case documents under the previous administration.
The case revolves around Akonta Mining Limited, a company reportedly linked to Chairman Wontumi, which is under investigation for alleged involvement in illegal mining activities (commonly known as galamsey).
The Akonta Mining saga has long been a controversial subject in Ghana’s fight against illegal mining, with Chairman Wontumi consistently denying any wrongdoing.
