The Charcoal Drivers Association has threatened to stop transportation and distribution of charcoal across the country.
Due to the economic impact and hardship in the country and police harassing us on our way , we’ll suspend transportation and distribution and embark on strike to show our displeasure towards what we’re going through.
According to Mr. Abdul Fatawu member of the Charcoal Drivers Association said Ghc 2000 is charge per kia , which covers anything you will encounter in your way as a driver.
He further stated as they (police) said we’ve been overloading all time when was the last time you heard a charcoal truck has killed someone on the way.
Police always stops us on the way , they can delay us for about 5 hours demanding for money before the let us go our way which is not helping us as drivers.
We’ll go on strike but that’s is in the hands of our leaders , but it won’t keep long to demonstrate on what we’re going through.
“We’ll challenge any who said we’re are destroying our forest reserve it’s never so , so Ghanaians should should stop saying charcoal burners are destroying our forest” Mr. Abdul Fatawu.
