Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar or Freedom Jacob Caesar, has shared the challenges he encountered in finding a Ghanaian spokesperson for the New Force Movement. Despite reaching out to several Ghanaians, none were willing to openly represent the group and preferred to remain anonymous. As a result, Mr. Bediako selected Ms. Shalimar Abbuisi, a Belgian national, as the spokesperson for the New Force.
Mr. Bediako shared in a TV3 interview today [Jan11] that because Ghanaians were hesitant to openly represent the New Force Movement, he chose Ms. Shalimar Abbuisi, a Belgian national, as the spokesperson. Some Ghanaians initially showed interest but later withdrew, possibly due to fear.
“In the beginning of the New Force with the mask and everything, we have been speaking to people, so many people to join us. But, today I want to tell the nation that we tried so many people to be the spokesperson, but they were all scared and didn’t want to use their faces,” he said.
Mr. Bediako’s thoughts on why some people might have been hesitant to represent the New Force Movement. He mentioned that their perception of his power could have influenced their decision. Regarding Ms. Abbiusi, Mr. Bediako explained that she had been in Ghana for over three years, working with GH One television and as a model, without any immigration issues until she became the spokesperson for the New Force Movement. He also mentioned that he met Ms. Abbiusi through Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, during a donation event for flood victims in the Volta Region.
