Diddy’s Legal Team Reveals Preferred Prison Location: Here’s Where They Want Him to Serve His Sentence
Diddy – Sean Combs – Diddy prison sentenceSean – “Diddy” Combs’ attorneys have asked the judge who sentenced him to recommend that their client serve his remaining prison term in New Jersey.
In a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian, Combs’ lawyers requested that he recommend the Bad Boy Records founder be placed at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security facility located on a military base 40 miles outside Philadelphia.
“In order to address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts, we request that the court strong recommend to the Bureau of Prison that Mr. Combs be placed at FCI Fort Dix,” Combs’ attorney Teny Geragos wrote in part.
Ultimately, the Bureau of Prisons will decide where Combs serves his sentence, but a judge can recommend a specific facility.
FCI Fort Dix previously housed notable inmates, including “Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli, former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and drug smuggler George Jung, who was played by Johnny Depp in Blow.
Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison by Subramanian after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
The music mogul was acquitted on more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.
Prosecutors had asked the judge to sentence Combs to 11 years in prison, while his lawyers had sought no more than 14 months.
Combs will get credit for the time he has already served at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his 2024 arrest. His lawyers have complained about the conditions at the facility.
