ECG load-shedding affects newborn babies of the Tema General Hospital

A nurse at Tema General Hospital shared a viral video expressing concern about the power outage. She mentioned that the lives of babies in incubators could be at risk if the lights don’t come back on soon. This video has gained attention from many people in Ghana.

Recently, there have been frequent power cuts in Ghana, causing inconvenience for many people. As a result, there has been a demand for a load-shedding timetable from both Ghanaians and the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission.

During the NPP campaign team inauguration in the Ashanti Region, Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh challenged those calling for a load-shedding timetable. He urged critics to come up with their own proposed schedules if they believed it was necessary. He questioned why someone would wish harm upon the country.

“I have assured you that we are committed to addressing this issue, and it’s not an instant fix. It’s a gradual process,” he emphasized on government’s intention to fix the erratic power cut.
