Abeiku Gyekye Jackson’s silver medal at the 2023 African Games in Accra is a remarkable achievement. He has made Ghana proud as the second Ghanaian athlete to reach the podium in the tournament.
Pavel Kutashev, the head coach of Ghanaian swimmer Abeiku Jackson, believes there is room for improvement despite winning Ghana’s first medal at the 13th African Games. Jackson secured the silver medal in the Men’s 50 Metre Freestyle event at the Borteyman Sports Complex’s Aquatic Centre on Day 2 of the competition.
Speaking in a press interview after the win, Kutashev talked about Jackson’s ability to win more medals for Ghana in the pool.
“I am working with the team and I believe in them and they are working hard so this is just a reward for the good work that we have done.”
“I am happy for the silver medal…me and Abeiku we know that we can do better with the results but the medal is also good for us.”
The 13th African Games will surely be an exciting event until it ends on March 23.
