Israel has reportedly decided to take action against Iran following recent attacks. They are preparing their warplanes for a potential strike. This information was shared in a report by Israel’s Channel 12 news.

According to the report, Israel’s air force, which consists of US-made F-16, F-15, and F-35 fighter jets, is preparing for a retaliatory counter-strike against Iran. No specific timeline was mentioned in the report.

The report suggests that the planned strike is meant to send a strong message that Israel will not tolerate such a significant attack without a response. However, Israeli leaders are also mindful of the potential risks of escalating tensions into a larger conflict.

The leaders of the US, UK, France, Italy, and Canada have urged Israel to show restraint. President Biden reportedly informed Prime Minister Netanyahu that the US would not support a counter-attack. Israel’s military chief, Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, confirmed that there will be a response to Iran’s actions but did not provide further details or timing.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Sunday reportedly warned US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin that Israel feels compelled to retaliate against Iran after the missile and drone attacks. Meanwhile, during a White House press briefing, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby referred to the attack as a “spectacular and embarrassing failure” and emphasized that Israel is now in a stronger strategic position.

Kirby didn’t provide any specific details about whether the US would be briefed ahead of an Israeli military response.

“That is an Israeli decision to make. Whether and how they’ll respond to what Iran did on Saturday we’re going to leave squarely with them.”
