Leighton Meester Teases On-Screen Drama with Husband Adam Brody in Nobody Wants This (Exclusive)
Leighton Meester – Adam Brody – Nobody Wants This – Leighton Meester is bringing the drama to season 2 of Nobody Wants This.
The actress and singer, 39, is playing Abby, a former middle school nemesis of Kristen Bell’s character, and she will star opposite her husband, Adam Brody.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Meester — who has partnered with Godiva for a new campaign — teases her guest spot, saying, “I don’t know what I can tell you, but I do inevitably stir up some drama there.”
“Obviously, I am a huge fan of the show for many reasons, but I’ve been so lucky to get to know everybody involved, … [and they’ve all] been so kind and welcoming,” continues the Gossip Girl alum. “I was really taken by everybody’s kindness and their talent, and how that whole show came together.”
“I know that everyone has so much fun on it, and when I went on, I mean, it was one of the most fun times that I’ve had on a set,” adds Meester, then giving a nod to Brody: “I also know somebody on it.”

Nobody Wants This debuted on Netflix in September 2024. Starring Brody and Bell, both 45, the show follows the love story between Noah, a newly single rabbi, and Joanne, an agnostic sex podcaster, as they attempt to make their relationship work despite major cultural differences.
Netflix announced a month later in October that the show was renewed for a second season — a delight to fans after season 1’s dramatic cliffhanger ending.
According to an official synopsis, season 2 of Nobody Wants This sees Joanne and Noah “fully committed to merging their lives – and loved ones — together.”
“But their differences still exist and can’t be ignored. The challenge now is not just falling in love against all odds, but staying together in spite of them,” it continues.

In addition to Brody and Bell, most of Nobody Wants This‘ main cast will return for season 2, including Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Jackie Tohn and Sherry Cola. Joining Meester in a new role is Miles Fowler.
At the 2025 Emmy Awards, Brody spoke exclusively with PEOPLE about his wife joining him on the show. (He was nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series category at the annual awards show.)
“The truth of the matter is, most of her scenes are with Justine [Lupe] and Kristen [Bell],” The O.C. alum said, referring to Meester, with whom he shares two children.
“So I got to kind of be a bystander and watch, which is even sometimes even more fun because I get to admire,” he added.
Season 2 of Nobody Wants This will premiere on Oct. 23. Season 1 of the series is currently available to stream on Netflix.
