June 2023 is packing tons of new original content for Netflix subscribers. Fan-favorite Netflix shows like Never Have I Ever and Love Is Blind have already returned with their newest seasons this month and with the long-awaited debuts of Black Mirror Season 6 and The Witcher Season 3 still on the way, there’s almost too much to keep track of! The streamer is also packing some notable original film releases in the incoming weeks, the biggest of which is the action blockbuster-sized sequel Extraction 2led by mega-star Chris Hemsworth. Elsewhere in June 2023, subscribers can look forward to the new original psychological horror film Run Rabbit Runled by Sarah Snook of Succession fame.

Animation fans have a very special treat with the Netflix premiere of Nimona as well, a film that was originally in production at Blue Sky Studios but was canceled by Disney after the Fox-Merger. Based on the fantasy graphic novel of the same name by cartoonist and She-Ra and the Princesses of Power creator ND Stevenson, it was reported that Disney pushed back against Nimona‘s open LGBTQ characters and themes. Thankfully, Annapurna Pictures revived the project with DNEG providing the film’s 3D animation and Netflix as its worldwide distributor. Chloë Grace Moretz provides the voice of main character Nimona, a teenage shapeshifter who partners with former knight Ballister Blackheart, voiced by Riz Ahmed, for an unlikely whimsical adventure.

In terms of new and returning films to Netflix’s revolving streaming library, there’s plenty to choose from in June 2023. Subscribers can never go wrong with classics like Sam Raimi‘s original Spider-Man trilogy or James Cameron’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Hit comedies like Groundhog Day, Bruce Almighty, and Mean Girls and older animated films like Surf’s Up, The Angry Birds Movie, and Mr. Peabody & Shermanare also now streaming on Netflix this month. Looking to catch up on some of last year’s Oscar nominees? Then To Lesie and Living are the go-to picks. Finally, those excited for Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer might want to rewatch the director’s previous war film Dunkirk when it returns to Netflix on June 12, 2023.
