According to Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, the wife of the late Dr. John Kumah, she has accused self-proclaimed prophet Nigel Gaisie of exploiting their family’s personal information for his own gain. In an interview with Asaase Radio, she disclosed that Gaisie had knowledge of her late husband’s terminal illness but used it to falsely prophesy the death of a deputy minister in Ghana in 2024. It’s unfortunate that someone they considered close would use their trust in such a way. As a result, the family has decided to sever ties with him.

It’s really unfortunate to hear about these allegations against Nigel Gaisie. According to Mrs. Kumah, she has accused him of being a known womanizer and claimed that his extramarital affairs led to the breakdown of his own marriage. She also mentioned that his behavior has caused other churches to distance themselves from him and that he has gained a reputation for pursuing married women. Mrs. Kumah challenged him to explain why her family cut ties with him and why he is no longer welcomed in several churches. She urged him to pray for forgiveness and to stop pursuing other people’s wives. It’s definitely a serious matter that needs to be addressed and clarified.

“Nigel Gaisie was like a brother. He knows my late husband, lawyer John Kumah personally, one-on-one. We have sat in this house and eaten together several times. That is how far we go. When he came from abroad to start a church in Ghana, he came to my church, Disciples of Christ Ministries and I did a programme with him dubbed ‘Let the Prophet Speak’ ”

“We know him very well and have been aware since November 2023 that the late John Kumah was seriously sick. My husband had a lot of respect for men of God in this country and that included Nigel Gaisie when my husband and I thought he was a genuine man of God.”

“Nigel Gaisie knew very well that my husband was terminally ill as far back as August 2023 but regardless of that, he stood on his altar on 31st December 2023 to lie through his supposed prophesy that a Ghanaian deputy minister will die in the year 2024. What does he want to achieve through these fake prophesies?” John Kumah’s widow questioned.

Mrs. Kumah filed against Captain Smart. She accused him of callously insinuating that her husband died of poisoning. It’s understandable that she wants the police to investigate these claims and put an end to what she sees as misinformation and injustice. Mrs. Kumah expressed her concerns about the damage to her late husband’s reputation and the distress it’s causing the family during their grieving period. She called for the appropriate authorities to take action and hold those responsible accountable. It’s unfortunate that these revelations came after weeks-old clips of Captain Smart alleging deliberate poisoning resurfaced on social media. He had suggested that politicians and businessmen were behind the poisoning that led to John Kumah’s untimely death.
