Lawyer, founder and leader of UPP Akwasi Addae Odike says the failure of government to appropriately tackle the galamsey menace is because they are hypocrites and incompetent.
“How can our so called Christian Leaders tackle this problem with prayers whilst this needs to be tackled by law” he stated.
He thereby said some big men in the current government in power and some Christian Leaders are actively involved in doing galamsey
Lands and Natural Reseources Minister, Samuel Abu Jinapor, stated earlier that, the activities some mining firms are in direct breach of Ghana’s laws, no actions by the state have been taken to bring the company and its owners to book this means our leaders are hypocrites and incompetent enough to fight galamsey.
He noted that as such, the government has no moral right to arrest others for committing the same crime.
