The recent misunderstanding between peasant farmers and cattle heads men in the Kwahu Afram Plains which claimed three lives at Maame Krobo in the Kwahu Afram Plains south was finally resolved by evacuating the cattles located in the Kwahu Afram Plains into the ranches established in the area which paved way to fight the nomadic cattle heads men in Kwahu Afram Plains by the help of the military (Operation cowley).
Today, the residents of Kwahu Afram Plains and workers of various abattoir houses in the Kwahu Afram Plains are crying over their high cost of living and business at the point of collapsing.
Speaking to the various workers of the abattoirs in the Kwahu Afram Plains they said, the decision for sacking the cattle heads men from the Kwahu Afram Plains was not the best because it has affected their business.
According to them they operate in credit basis and now that all the heads men have left, business is so much affected.
They emphasized for the past three months, shortage of cow meat has hit the market of Donkokrom, Maame Krobo and Ekye Amanfrom all in the Kwahu Afram Plains North and South district.
They appealed to the authorities to reconsider their decision of sacking the cattle heads men from Kwahu Afram Plains and go back to the drawing table for a lasting solution.
