The National Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) says the people seeking to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 election are no match for the NDC given their abysmal performance and public conduct.

He told Johnnie Hughes that Alan Kyerematen is equally guilty of gross economic mismanagement because he was a key member of the Economic Management Team led by Vice President Dr. Bawumia.

“The truth of the matter is that he is equally guilty. If Bawumia scores F, he will score an E because he was a member of the Economic Management Team for 6 years which has delivered the most abysmal record since the inception of this fourth republic.

“Kennedy Agyapong; is he the same man who called for the mass murder of Ewes and Ga’s and the man who brandished the photograph of Ahmed  Hussein-Suale    an investigative anticorruption journalist on television and called for people to attack him and do him war for reward. Is he the same man who now wants to be president? The man who once said there are no wise men in the NPP? Is he the one they want to present as their candidate?”

He argues that Alan Kyerematen has nothing to show for as a Minister for Trade and Industry over six years. “What was the growth rate of the manufacturing sector we handed to him and what is the growth rate now? It was growing at 7.9% in 2016 when we gave it to him and the growth rate he left was 4.5%. There is a sharp monumental decline and if it is about Dr. Bawumia, don’t go far” the National Communication Officer emphasised.

The Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Former Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen and the Member of Parliament for Assin North, Kennedy Agyapong have been touted as the forerunners in the flagbearer race of the ruling NPP.

However, Sammy Gyamfi is of the view that Ghanaians are experiencing the mismanagement and recklessness of the NPP government, hence, there is nothing they can say to deceive Ghanaians again.
