She responded to being referenced in the diss track “Not Like Us” and playfully danced to the stage during her speech, implying Drake might have a tough time living the song down.

Serena Williams hosted the 2024 ESPYS and joked about the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle. She mentioned not picking a fight with Kendrick Lamar and danced to the song “Not Like Us.” Williams used Drake as an example of challenging Kendrick Lamar and how it could affect him at Raptors games.

Serena Williams and Drake were rumored to be dating in 2011 and were seen together multiple times. Their friendship lasted until at least 2015. They went to the US Open semi-finals together but ended their friendship before 2017. Drake referenced their split in “Nothings Into Somethings” and mentioned Alexis Ohanian in “Middle of the Ocean.”

“Serena, your husband a groupie. He claim we don’t got a problem but. No, boo, it is like you comin’ for sushi.”

Serena Williams wasn’t feeling Drake’s lyrics, and Kendrick Lamar wasn’t either. K. Dot called out Drake for disrespecting Serena on “Not Like Us.” Their connection through their Compton roots is evident. Kendrick raps, “From Alondra down to Central, n**ga better not speak on Serena.” It seems Drake’s words came back to bite him, with Serena serving up another moment of embarrassment on a stage he once ruled.
