Seun kuti has been detained for allegedly assaulting a Police
The Nigerian Afrobeat musician Seun kuti was arrested for allegedly assaulting a Police officer.
He’s action drew widespread condemnation in Nigerians, calling for his immediate arrest and prosecution.
by one Benjamin Hundeyin,a Lagos spokesman tweeted that kuti had handed himself to the police along with photos of him in handcuffs on a Monday.
kuti was “captured in a video assaulting a police officer in uniform “,added by the spokesman. Police chief Usman Alkali baba had ordered his detention on Saturday.
Prior to his arrest, Kuti made claims on Twitter that the Police man had tried to kill him and his family without any explanations.
In a video posted online on Saturday displayed the two men in the middle of a busy Lagos road, in the video it was not really clear what really conspired which caused the agitated Kuti to push the puzzled policeman before pouncing on him, hitting his face twice.
