Trevor Lawrence Jr. claims he created backing tracks for Snoop on the BODR album but never got paid for them. It’ll be intriguing to see how this situation progresses.
Snoop reportedly used Lawrence’s work for the songs “Pop Pop” and “Get This Dick” on the BODR album without compensating him. Lawrence never received payment for his contributions. The lawsuit states that Snoop’s team contacted Lawrence in 2022 but did not agree to the compensation terms set by Lawrence.
The lawsuit mentioned that Snoop’s representative found the terms “acceptable,” yet no formal licensing offer was sent to Lawrence. Despite this, the songs were released a month later. Lawrence took legal action after two years of no compensation, claiming that Snoop potentially earned “tens of millions of dollars” from the BODR NFT sales. The lawsuit emphasized that Lawrence did not authorize the use of his work for such bundled offerings like the NFT sale.
Snoop dropped BODR after taking over Death Row Records. He bought the label from MNRK Music Group, previously EOne Music. The album had tracks with Nas, the late Nate Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, The Game, DaBaby, T.I., and others.
