Taylor Swift Praises Keri Russell After 2008 MySpace Hair Routine Post Resurfaces

During a Monday, Oct. 6 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, host Jimmy Fallon reminded the Felicity actress, 49, of an interaction she had with a teenage Taylor Swift over a decade ago. Fallon presented the star with a 2008 MySpace post from Swift in which the singer gushed over meeting Russell, who’d shared her hair care secrets with her.
The 51-year-old host held up a card with the post in its entirety.
“So.. Ben (my banjo player), Grant (my guitar player) and I all got to meet Keri Russell the other night,” a then-19-year-old Swift wrote. “We were playing at the same corporate party she was at. Ok, and I’ve always been obsessed with her because she rocks the curly hair, and was AMAZING in The Waitress and Felicity. When we met her, she was SO incredibly cool.”
The post continues, “So before we went on the trip, Ben’s wife asked him jokingly if he would ask Keri how she does her hair, not thinking he’d actually get the chance to ask her. But sure enough, we’re talking to her and Ben told her about his wife’s question. This is why she’s awesome: she gets out a piece of paper, and writes down EXACTLY what products she uses, what blow dryers she uses, and exactly what she does to make her hair straight or curly.”
Swift concludes the post with: “It seems simple, but she had so many people who wanted to talk to her, and she still took the time to do that for Ben. I just think it’s so awesome when cool people don’t know they’re cool. Love her!”
Fallon also shared Swift’s former MySpace bio, in which she said, “I think Keri Russell is the coolest celebrity ever.”
Russell laughed as Fallon recounted Swift’s story and said that that she remembered meeting the “Teardrops on My Guitar” singer.
“She was playing a little bit more country stuff back then and I remember thinking, ‘I hope something great happens to her. I hope she makes it,'” Russell said before cheekily adding: “I think she did.'”
Swift also dropped by Fallon’s talk show recently. During an interview on Monday’s Tonight Show episode, the pop star gushed about her engagement ring from Travis Kelce.
When Fallon quipped that he was being “blinded” by Swift’s new jewelry, she agreed, “It’s crazy, that’s crazy,” while looking at her ring.

Swift — who shared the news of her engagement to NFL star Travis Kelce on Aug. 26 — went on to tell Fallon that her now fiancé, 36, “custom-designed [her ring] with this amazing jeweler.”
She added, “I look at it constantly, it doesn’t feel in any way normal for me, I’m still like, ‘Oh man, wow!'”
“The fact that this is the person I get to hang out with every day forever, that’s the whole thing of it, that’s the win, and this represents that,” she continued.
Swift, who wore a shimmering silver Giuseppe Di Morabito mini dress on the show, then told Fallon all about her romantic, flower-filled backyard proposal, revealing it was like a “secret garden” and the “best possible case scenario.”
