Several farms along the White Volta in the Bawku West District in the Upper East Region have been hit by flooding as a result from the spillage Bagre Dam in Burkina Faso.

As a result of excess flooding of the water , farmers along the river banks in the Upper East Region , Binduri to be precise are lamenting bitterly as their crops has been immersed.

“Crops like millet and sorghum are underwater now, and there’s nothing we can do as farmers to redeem our crops” Mr. Suleman Osman resident and a farmer at Bazua near Binduri stated this in an interview with DKMNEWS.NET.

He further stated communities in the Upper East Region especially Binduri are always in their end time whenever the Burkinabe authorities spill the excess water from the Bagre Dam.

He thereby pleaded on government and authorities to announce the spillage message to them (residents/farmers) along the river banks to be self conscious before the spillage , if not anytime there’s spillage of the water their suffering always prove futile.

“NADMO has come to our aid but that seems not to be enough for us and could be for the peasants farmers not for those who farms acres of land ” he lastly stated.
