WE WILL LOSE THE GALAMSEY FIGHT BY LEAVING THE BASIC FIGHTERS WITH MERE ALLEGATION TO GOV’T APPOINTEES- W/N NPP COMM. DIRECTOR

Western North regional communication director for the NPP, Mr. Addo Yaw Harry speaking on liberty FM morning show, has called on the citizens participation in the fight against galamsey in the country.

He said the country will lose the fight against eradication of illegal mining popularly known as galamsey by leaving the chiefs and community members being the basic fighters and giving mere allegations to government appointees in the affected mining districts.

According to him, for instance, let’s somebody from nowhere, brought excavator into a certain community for illegal mining, and the entirety of youths and chiefs disallowed, no politician can fight against the Chiefs and the people within the community.

He therefore, called for wholistic manner of shooting out the galamsey menace in the country.

He added that, the will of the people is always greater than the will of any power but the problem is whenever you visit an illegal mining communities and the youth themselves started fighting against the police meanwhile the effects will definitely revealed later and being hungry doesn’t mean you do everything to survive by polluting water and destroying Lands for money, therefore fighting galamsey is not a sole responsibility of one politician.
