Yul Edochie has stated that he is not married to Judith Austin, despite having two children together. He claims that their relationship is solely for skit-making purposes and that there is no legally recognized union between them. Yul’s estranged wife May Edochie’s legal team, led by Emeka Ugwuonye of Due Process Advocates, recently revealed that Yul made this claim in his court filing. In August 2023, May filed for a divorce, but the details of the court proceedings have been kept confidential.
It’s unfortunate to hear that the court session for the ongoing case at the FCT High Court in Abuja did not proceed as scheduled on March 5. Mr. Ugwuonye, May’s lawyer, has now revealed the unfolding developments in the case. Yul and Judy claimed credit for the setback and have denied being married, stating that their relationship lacks legal recognition. Yul’s filing reportedly includes his denial of his marriage to Judy.
He said Yul wrote, “That since the news of the birth of Star in June 2021, Gistlover, as a negative blog that thrives in fake and manipulated information for financial gains, has been negatively exploiting every movie or skit featuring me and Judy and generating social media traffic for financial gains.”
According to Mr. Ugwuonye, May’s initial petition mentioned a traditional marriage ceremony between Yul and Judy on April 24, 2022, in Anambra State, as reported by Gistlover. However, Yul has categorically denied this claim, stating that it is false information promoted by Gistlover for financial gain. Yul and Judy insist that the alleged traditional marriage ceremony mentioned in May’s petition is a fabricated story fueled by the blog’s habit of spreading fake news.
